Solution for low fps with NVIDIA Cards settings

Apex Legends Settings Laptop graphics

There seems to be a common issue with laptop’s and sometimes PC’s that it uses the Intel HD graphics by default when launching Apex Legends.

So to change that go to NVIDIA control panel, under manage 3D settings, select apex legends as a program to customize (If you can’t find the program click on browse and go to folder Origin games then r5apex.exe) then change select the preferred graphics processor to high-performance NVIDIA processor instead of Intel that might be on default.

Priotize Apex Legends in task manager

apex legends settings task manager

This can help to get some more stable fps and reduce stuttering.

  1. Make sure apex legends is running.
  2. Open task manager right click on empty space on your taskbar on windows then click Task Manager (or Ctrl+Alt+Delete)
  3. Click on details
  4. Right click on Apex Legends > set priority > High

These Apex Legends Settings Are Great for FPS

These are the best apex legends settings that will give you a good balance between maximum FPS and good graphics.

If you’re still dropping frames and have low fps then pull everything to low (including FOV) but the graphics quality will suffer.

Make sure to always update your graphics drivers to the latest version often with the new games there is some optimization to be made in new drivers. Check your NVIDIA Control Panel if you use NVIDIA.

Close down programs that take up a lot of CPU to reduce lag as well. Check your task manager on Windows (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC)

These settings above partly come from twitch streamer shroud, check him out.

A new battle royale game has exploded into the gaming scene called Apex Legends which are developed by EA/Respawn available free to play at Origin.

It offers fast-paced FPS action which different classes which is interesting and new to the battle royale genre. The game is from the same universe and developers from the Titanfall 2 game.

Conclusion

Right now many players are suffering from low frame rates even with high-end graphics cards, it’s on the developer’s side to make the game more optimized. The game is brand new so hopefully, in future updates, it will get better.

Hopefully, these Apex Legends settings reduced lag and increased your fps, now go and win some games!
